Brightest Day issues top August 2010 comics charts
Thursday, September 9, 2010
Diamond Comic Distributors announced that Brightest Day #7 from DC was the top-selling comic book in North America in August, based on orders from comics shops. And in the second spot? Brightest Day #8 — marking the first time this year that both issues of the two-a-month limited series have taken the top spots. Click to see the Top 10 Comics and Trade Paperbacks for August 2010, along with market shares.
Last August the charts were topped by Blackest Night #2 among other heavy-hitter comics, so the comparatives will be strong — but it will be a four-week month versus a four-week month, so at least the calendar won't be muddying the water this time out.
Diamond's full charts are expected soon. Stay tuned!

Woah.... X-Men drops from 140,000 to below Batman sales?
Thats near 50% attrition isn't it?
We won't know for sure until we see the estimates. But it's worth noting that X-Men Vol. 2, #1 from 1991 saw an astounding 82% attrition from its first issue, dropping from the all-time record 8.19 million copies to 1.47 million copies for the second issue.
